Wahoo is a well-equipped Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 43 with a genuine offshore cruising history.
Whether the plan is cruising the Bahamas, spending a season in the Caribbean, drifting down the ICW or heading back into blue water, she is equipped for it. Equally, she is a comfortable and capable yacht for simply spending time on the hook or swimming off the stern, dinner in the cockpit and cocktails at sunset.
MAINTENANCE & UPGRADES
The standing rigging was replaced in 2019/20, along with a cutter stay and trysail arrangement. The bottom was taken back and treated with three coats of two-component epoxy primer followed by four coats of Coppercoat and then for the shear heck if it, a coat of antifoul. An aluminum arch was installed and a Windpilot Pacific windvane in 2021. The stove was replaced in 2023 to a gimbaled Eno. The result is a Jeanneau 43 with a combination of comfortable accommodation, good sailing characteristics and the equipment needed for extended cruising.
THE BOAT
The 4-cabin, 2-head layout works well for family cruising, or spacious cruiser with room for toys or having friends aboard , or simply giving a couple plenty of space for longer periods aboard.
The spacious cockpit and twin helm arrangement make her comfortable at anchor and practical underway, while the sail inventory gives plenty of options from relaxed coastal sailing through to offshore passages.
Wahoo has already done the Atlantic crossing more than once and most recently the ARC+. She is a tried and tested vessel. Easy to sail single handed and with her draft points higher to the wind. The ISTEC Parasail makes for some fast action downwind if you want it to. Now it’s time for her next chapter.
Bahamas. Caribbean. Blue water. Or simply a great place to spend the weekend.
A note from her owner:
As an American I was initially concerned with the 220v on Wahoo but have found that the ample solar meant I didn’t plug into shore power once in over a year. Anything tech runs off of 120v or 220v and we discovered we could even buy a 220v toaster online before we even left. It was never an issue. (Said toaster conveys with the boat). So far as Wahoo’s draft, we sailed this up and down the ICW with relative ease. We found that in the Bahamas we were more stable at anchor when that wind clocked around, and had more space at anchorages as the small shallow draft vessels all tried to tuck in close to shore.
