The 2-cabin, 2-head Catalina 470, Significant Otter, is on the hard in Deltaville, VA.  This popular model, is a sought-after cruising boat, with shoal keel, large cockpit and comfortable accommodations.  Significant Otter has spent most if it’s life in fresh water. In 2019 & 2020 the current owners took a family cruise, embarking on the Great Loop, from the Great Lakes to the Gulf and up the East Coast.

Accommodations

This spacious vessel is light and inviting.  With plenty of hatches and portlights for ventilation.

The galley is to port of the companionway. It is spacious and has excellent storage, 3-burner stove, double sink, microwave, front & top loading fridge and a separate freezer.

Starboard of the companionway is access to the aft head, which has a separate shower stall, basin  & toilet and doors from the salon as well as the aft cabin.  Aft cabin is down a short passageway and runs the width of the boat.  With queen-sized bunk and storage down both hulls.  The engine can be accessed from below the companionway as well as from the aft cabin.

Forward of the head compartment is the nav station, with large chart table, easy access to electronics and electrical panel, a cuddy for a TV and comfortable seating.  There are 2, adjustable armchairs forward of the nav station, with a cocktail table that folds up against the hull or out between the chairs.  Storage behind and between the seats.

The salon is to port, with U-shaped settee around a large dining table.  The table lowers to form a double berth and there is storage below the settees as well as behind and above.

The forward cabin has a double, Pullman berth to port with drawers beneath, a bank of storage lockers along the starboard hull.  The forward head has a toilet to port, basin to starboard and a shower compartment in the bow.  The shower compartment houses the washer/dryer.
