A very clean and nicely upgraded example of a rare Jeanneau model. The Sun Odyssey 33i was very popular in Europe but for some reason not actively marketed in the USA, hence they seldom come onto the market here. It is a perfect sized boat for the Chesapeake Bay and East Coast sailing but is capable of taking a couple to the Bahamas for some winter respite. Aurora’s owner formerly owned a performance race boat and decided to step down to a boat with additional creature comforts, but not give up some performance thrill. Hence he commissioned new Evolution sails last year to replace the Doyle sails installed by the previous owner in 2018. The boat has in mast furling but with a well cut radial sail that should negate some of the in-mast disadvantages. The genoa is also a radial cut sail and to add some thrill, the Doyle UPS (Utility Power Sail) is set from a Selden sprit off a soft furler in light wind reaching conditions. Aurora is going to need some bottom paint (last painted 18 months ago) and some topside wax, but in all other respects is ready to roll for the 2024 summer and fall sailing seasons.
