This 3-cabin, 2-head Beneteau Oceanis 48 is in the water in Deltaville, VA.  Pleiades is lightly used and has only been sailed on the Chesapeake Bay, but this is an ocean-going vessel, strong, sea-worthy and sea-kindly with phenomenal sailing characteristics and copious accommodations.  The Oceanis 48 was designed for maximum performance and maximum comfort.   The beam is carried all the way aft with a hard chine allows the boat to heel to the chine and then track beautifully, getting ‘into the groove’ with speed and comfort.  The chine also serves to increase the interior volume above the waterline, so the living quarters are large and can accommodate a family or a couple with guests.

Pleiades has teak side decks and cockpit floor, which add to its character.  The large cockpit has a fibreglass arch forward and a stainless steel arch, with davits, aft.   The full-width,  fold-down transom which can be raised and lowered by the push of a button, makes this model exceptional. No other monohull provides this amount of uninterrupted access to the water.

Pleiades has the following upgrades and equipment:

Yanmar 4JH80 w/ 178 hours
Generator 7.5 KW (57 hours)

Accommodations

The interior wood is Alpi Mahogany with white and grey trim.  The light in the boat is provided by fixed ports in the hull, eyebrow windows, with opening hatches and numerous deck hatches.

This 3 cabin, 2 head boat has the well appointed galley to port.  It is L-shaped with a separate island for the sinks, just next to the companionway stairs.  Lots of storage above and below counter height a large fridge and freezer and leathered grey formica counter tops, keeps the cook happy.

Access to the port aft cabin is through the galley.  It has a double berth, a storage shelf along the hull, and storage lockers both inboard and outboard.  The starboard aft cabin is a mirror image of this one, with comfortable sleeping accommodation for 2 people. The aft head is conveniently located to starboard of the companionway. It has a head and basin and a separate shower stall.

On the bulkhead of the head compartment is a large mirror and a storage cabinet below. Forward  is the comfortable U-shaped dinette.  It has white leather cushions, a table top that can be cocktail table size or fold out and pivot to form a full sized dining table or lowers to form a double berth. Midships is a bench seat that provides further storage and seating.

On the port side of the salon, the seats and the table/nav table can be moved to create 3 different configurations of settee with nav table at either end or 2 seats with cocktail table between.

The ‘wow-worthy’ master cabin is in the bow. There is a great deal of standing space inside the door with 6’6 headroom.  A vanity  is situated to starboard with molded stone basin, storage below and mirror on the bulkhead.  Outboard of that is the shower stall with glass surrounds, to port is a separate head compartment with electric, fresh water flush toilet and basin, as well as storage cabinets.  The queen berth is centerline, with mirror on the forward bulkhead, storage shelves down the side and large fixed ports in the hull sides.  The berth can be accessed from each side.  There are storage cabinets at the aft end of the  berth and drawers below.
