Beneteau’s Oceanis range was introduced in 2008 with the Oceanis 49 as their flagship vessel. The innovative design was by  Berret and Racoupeau with interior styling from the Italian Nauta Company. The Oceanis 49 has  sleek lines with “eyebrow” style cabin windows and spacious well lit interior, making it a superb live-aboard and cruising vessel, with the 3-cabin, 2- head layout ideal for a family.
The cockpit is enormous, due to the fact that the beam has been carried all the way aft, making this really comfortable and a superb entertainment space. The dual helms, allow excellent visibility from all sides as well as seamless flow from the swim platform to the companionway. The teak side decks are wide and clear, allowing for easy movement forward, though the sail-handling lines are lead aft, so there is little need to go to the bow while under way.

Carpe Diem has a lot of upgrades, but is going to need some work in order to bring her up to snuff.
