Saydanah is a rare offering of an Island Packet SP Cruiser.  This motor sailer  has really earned its ‘Cruiser’ nomenclature. It is built for comfort at sea, with the best features of a trawler and a sailing vessel incorporated into the design.
The current owner has owned it for 10 years and sailed it in the Bay Of Biscay before crossing the North Atlantic to the USA, via England, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland and Canada. Saydanah has done the Great Loop, sailed the Caribbean and Bahamas as well as the East Coast of the US from Florida to Canada.  The vessel is on the hard in Deltaville for the winter.

This is an exceptionally comfortable live-aboard cruising boat, with good head-room throughout.  Saydanah has a 2 cabin, 1 head layout with a large galley and an office area.  The salon/pilot house has excellent visibility, thanks to large windows all around.  The galley and living quarters are below decks and forward of the salon.

The hull is solid fiberglass and with Polycore sandwich decks. A sturdy swim platform with a door into the compact cockpit allow access to the boat.  The side & fore decks can be reached  by stepping up from the cockpit; handholds on the cabin top as well as solid stainless steel railings allow safe movement for the crew.  Forward of the pilot house and aft of the mast is a large seating area/forward cockpit with walk-through from the both side decks. The vessel is sloop rigged, with a Hoyt Boom mounted on the aft end of the bowsprit, for the self-tacking jib.

The owner of this vessel is extremely detail oriented and made sure the boat was in tip-top condition before setting out on the Transatlantic crossing. Saydanah is extremely safe and secure for the crew and is ready for a trans-ocean crossing or coastal cruising.

It has the following upgrades and features:

Accommodations

Step into the Pilot House/Salon through a door, port aft.  Along the lower port side of the pilot house there are battery switches and breakers, as well as storage cabinets forward.  A clear walk way takes one to the stairs that access the forward area of the boat. Large sliding windows down the upper side of the pilot house.

To starboard is the raised dinette with L shaped settee positioned aft and along the side of the hull. The settee has Navy Blue ‘Original Ultraleather’ upholstery (new 2023).  The dining table can fold out to create a larger table and can drop down to create a double berth (filler cushion is on board). Large side windows slide open for ventilation.   Two Captain’s chairs are forward, they swivel and are adjustable. ‘Original Ultraleather’  covered (2023)

The helm is forward & center with instrument panel on the dashboard ahead of it and TV to starboard. The TV functions as an additional Chartplotter display.   Atop the instrument panel are electric control switches for the winches that bring the jib and the mainsail in and out.  The forward windscreens have wipers and the middle window opens outwards for ventilation.

To port of the helm are the steps down the the galley and the ‘living quarters’.  The galley runs along the port hull, with a huge amount of storage and counter space as well as fridge, freezer, stove and microwave.  In the center of the area is an island with sinks, storage and more counter space.

To starboard of the stairs is a counter, with electrical panels above and storage cabinets below. On the starboard side of that space is a desk with stool, aft of the desk is the guest cabin with 2 single berths, vast amounts of storage in creatively planned lockers and the engine can be accessed from under the midships bunk.

The head is forward of the desk and has a separate shower area, aft, with toilet and basin forward.  The forward cabin can be accessed through the head and through the galley.

Forward cabin is a large space, with standing room at the aft end, tall lockers port and starboard, a centerline queen berth with easy access from each side.  There is more storage beneath the berth and in a cabinet to starboard of the entry which has a full length mirror on the outside and encloses  the  mast.  A small opening portlight in the forward bulkhead gives visibility into the anchor locker. Ventilation is provided by 3 opening portlights in the hull and an overhead hatch.
