The  Belgian built Etap 34S is an evolution of the Etap unsinkable trailer-sailers in the 20+ foot range.  The 34 S is designed as a comfortable, unsinkable, ocean going vessel with superb sailing characteristics as well as interior and on-deck appointments that make it user-friendly for the crew.  The hull & deck  construction is unusual in that it consists of a double ‘skin’ – 2 layers of fiberglass – filled with closed cell polyurethane foam. Thus no voids between the skins for water intrusion if the boat is holed. This construction makes the boat light and paired with the light, 7/8 fractional rig and tandem keel, which allows maximum flow and lift, the Etap 34S is a sailing dynamo.

The interior is light and well ventilated, with a traditional look, thanks to the Mahogany finish on the bulkheads and the ‘teak and holly’ sole.  The 2-cabin, 1-head layout, with galley and chart table (with fold away stool), is simple and classic. The aft cabin is a spacious double, the v-berth is compact; crew can also sleep on the straight settees in the salon on a longer passage.

GAR has been single-handed by the current owner, who is thrilled by the way it sails and how easily the boat handles all weather conditions.

Equipment includes:

Raymarine ST6002 Autopilot (below decks)
Webasto Reverse Cycle Aircon (new 2020)
Garmin Radar
Garmin Chartplotter
Classic Mainsail w/ 2 reefs
Genoa 130%
Staysail
Asymmetrical Spinnaker
Spinnaker pole
Electric Windlass
Airhead Composting Toilet (never used)
ROCNA 33lb anchor w/ 150′ chain
Hull & keel soda blasted and epoxy coated (2012)
Refrigeration

GAR is a clean, well-equipped vessel, ready to take you adventuring!

Accommodations

Well appointed galley is to port of the companionway, with access to the aft cabin behind. Aft cabin has storage cabinets and double berth.

To starboard of the companionway is the chart table with a seat on a hinge that folds beneath it and storage.  Behind the chart table is the head, with new AirHead composting toilet (never used), basin & vanity and pull-out shower head.

The salon consists of 2 straight settees with tankage and storage beneath, a central table with fold out leaves. The  table incorporates the compression post.

The forward bulkhead is magnificently eye-catching stretch of mahogany which has a door that opens into the V-berth.  The V-berth has storage along the hull sides as well as a locker, port aft and an overhead hatch.
