This is a rare offering of an Alubat Ovni 385 in the USA. This vessel is designed for expedition-making and serious cruising. With Aluminum hull and traveller forward of the wheel, the boat is extremely safe on trans-Ocean passages. The cutter rig, 8′ draft with the keel down, the hard chine and long waterline, allow for superb performance.  The lifting keel and kick up rudder give access to shallow waters and make careening the boat a distinct option for working on the bottom in out-of-the-way places. The interior woodwork is warm and the interior layout is comfortable for living aboard.  The first owner chose a number of upgraded options in this 2 cabin vessel. The V-berth has cabinets running along the upper hull-sides; the post at the back end of the salon table and the compression post are clad with wood, the starboard side of the salon has the comfortable 2-chair option with drawers separating them; the head and shower are in separate compartments with separate doors; there is access to the starboard cockpit storage through a door in the shower compartment.

L’Uomo Del Farro III (The Lighthouse Keeper) has been on the hard in Deltaville and underwent a thorough round of maintenance in the Fall of 2023.  The owners were planning on heading south for the winter, so they splashed it and used it for a few weeks, but a change of plan led them to haul and list the boat.

L’Uomo Del Farro III has the following upgrade and recent maintenance:

Decks & bottom painted (10/23)
Dodger (2023)
New solar vent & new salon hatch (2023)
West Marine roll-up dinghy (2023)

Accommodations

The interior layout has the galley to port, with the refrigerator in an island just forward of the companionway stairs. Behind the galley is the aft cabin, with double berth and storage.  Batteries and battery switches are below the bunk as well as good ventilation.

To starboard one finds the shower room aft – with a door in the aft bulkhead that allows access to the cockpit locker-cum-workshop. Forward of that is the head and vanity with separate access door. The full-sized chart table & nav station is forward of the head.

The salon has a long table that runs amidships, beneath which is the housing for the centerboard. The table has full leaves that fold up and reach the settee (port) and the chairs (starboard), seating 6 people comfortably.  There is storage below, behind and above the settees.  A formica leaf at the forward end of the galley counter folds up to join the central island, where the refrigerator is housed, giving extra work space for the cook.

The V-berth has a large amount of storage, at the aft end of the cabin as well as closed lockers along the hull sides and compartments under the berth.  A hatch in the bulkhead at the foot of the bed, provides access to the anchor locker and a hatch in the cabin top provides light and ventilation.
