The Beneteau 331 is a large and spacious vessel and one of the all-time favorite Beneteau models. It is actually 34 foot long and with high freeboard the interior volume allows makes it feel like a larger boat. The galley is user friendly and the flow between galley, head, aft cabin and salon is seamless.
The cockpit is comfortable and safe & has a walk-through transom when the mid-section of the aft seat is lowered, with a nice wide swim platform, making access to & from the water easy for young and old alike. Wide side decks allow easy movement forward.  The classic mainsail and 140% Genoa (new in 2019) make for the best possible combination of sails for those who like performance.

Madeline has been a ‘one couple’ boat that has been sailed largely on the Chesapeake Bay.  You will search hard to find a vessel in such excellent condition.  Madeline has always been professionally maintained to the highest level. Her owners are meticulous and detail oriented.  Every winter a cover is placed over the whole boat for protection, each summer the hull is compounded and waxed and the bottom is painted in alternate years.

In 2014 the hull below the waterline was soda blasted and barrier coated.  In 2017 a major refurbishment was undertaken, which included refurbishing the deck and cockpit, painting them with Awlgrip and replacing the cockpit teak. In 2019, a lightening strike to a nearby boat necessitated the replacement of all electronics, with Garmin instruments.

Almost everything has been upgraded or replaced, including:

2010 New Adler Barbour SuperCold Machine refrigerator
2013 New battery charger

2014 Bottom soda blasted and epoxy coated

New 2016:
Water heater
Dodger, bimini, wheel cover, winch covers, clutch covers

2019:

New Neil Pryde sails & lazy bag

All new fresh water plumbing lines
New hatch covers

New 2020:
Head, plumbing and sanitation hoses

2021:

New propane hose and solenoid

There is a LOT more that has not made it to this list. See details.

Accommodations

The spacious galley is to port, with updated fridge, microwave stove and double sink and plentiful storage, it’s a cook’s delight.

Entry to the aft cabin is to starboard of the companionway. The aft cabin has a large double berth with storage, access to the engine and a custom mahogany box which houses the below-decks autopilot (an unusual feature on a boat of this size).

The head is forward of the aft cabin, with basin and sink and a customized curtain set up to keep the door and bulkheads dry when showering.  The mirror was re-silvered & shower hose and faucet were replaced in 2021.

The chart table is forward of the galley with separate , ergonomically-friendly seat. Forward of that is a 2-person settee with storage beneath.  The dinette, with curved settee is to starboard.  The table can be lowered to form a double berth.

Step through a pocket door into the V-berth. It has storage lockers on the port side and shelves down each hull.  An insert can be positioned in the standing area to create a comfortable berth which takes up the whole space.  An overhead hatch provides light and ventilation.
