PRICE REDUCED – JUNE ’21

This 41′ 1993 Colvin Aderyn Mor steel boat is located in Deltaville, VA.  It is a tribute to a renowned designer, who specialized in sturdy cruising vessels. Valkyrie is built from Corten Steel with foam insulation throughout.  The original owners had the boat built in a boatyard in North Carolina, with input from Thomas Colvin.  They built it for their cruising needs (a couple with occasional guests) and cruised extensively from Maine to the Bahamas for several years in a row.

The cockpit is deep and safe, ketch rig  with 2 fore-sails, the Yankee on a bowsprit,  allows for a variety of sail plans. Wide side decks and high bulwarks are good for moving about.   Full keel provides stability.

Valkyrie has spent recent years on the Chesapeake Bay, but her owners are ready to pass her on to the next stewards for the next adventures.

Recent upgrades are as follows:

Hull painted Awlgrip Forest Green (2019)
Solar panels (5x 15W) installed (2019)
New V-berth hatch (2019)
Engine rebuilt (2018)
Garmin 1040 xs (2018)
Raymarine 5000 Autopilot (2017)
New water heater (2017)
Cruise and Carry Aircon (2017)
Electric head (2015)
SIG Marine diesel Cabin Heater (2012)
Bottom sandblasted & epoxy coated (2012)
Most lights converted to LED

Valkyrie needs a bit of cosmetic work on the decks, her hull is immaculate. She is a strong vessel, designed for offshore cruising. She’s rearing to go.

Accommodations

The interior of this boat is a classic – white hull liners and bulkheads with teak trim around cabinets and doors; pine-planked headliner with teak handholds and round, bronze portlights and teak & holly cabin sole.

The lower 2 steps of the companionway curve to make space for the large bank of drawers, below the chart table on the starboard side of the cabin.  Behind the chart table, is a narrow, deep storage shelf/pilot berth for a very small person!  Galley is to port, it is U-shaped, with deep double sink aft, and 3-burner propane stove forward. Lots of counter space and storage along the hull and above counter height.  The engine can be accessed through a panel below the counter between the companionway and the sink.

The dinette is divided from the galley by a half bulkhead, with a fold-down perch seat attached to it. Straight settee along the hull with storage above, behind and below the seating. The solid teak table is slightly offset to port, it has 2 leaves, for use by diners at port or starboard settees. The door to the head is situated in the forward port bulkhead with bookshelf midships.

The starboard settee has a pilot berth above/ behind it, storage below and a cabinet at the forward end along the hull. A propane heater is attached to the forward bulkhead  and the is mounted TV on an adjustable arm in the upper corner.

The forward cabin consists of 2 bunks along the hulls, the port bunk can pull out to form a 3/4 berth and a single bunk to starboard.  There is storage beneath both bunks and shelving along each hull.  A double hanging locker is situated behind the starboard bunk.  There is ample standing room and light is provided by several portlights in the cabintop.  The anchor locker can be accessed through a bulkhead in the bow.
