“Shillelagh” is a very well equipped Sabre 425 Wing Keel benefitting from a major refit in 2020 and cared for by a knowledgeable owner who has spared no expense.
Since 2020 she has new rod rigging, new awlgripped topsides and has been, stripped and barrier coated.
The popular two cabin layout makes her attractive for multiple couples or family. Her 5′ draft allows entry into shallow moorings and her flag blue topsides makes her the envy of any harbor.
“Shillelagh” is a turnkey proposition and ready for coastal cruising or the Bahamas.  In recent years the boat has been from Miami to Maine and is now in Deltaville, Va awaiting her new owner.

Owner is downsizing, sales motivated, and urges offers.

Sabre retooled its successful 42 and came up with the longer Sabre 425. This is a smart-looking performance cruiser that has been refined in many areas.

The 425 hull has more freeboard than the 42. The designers at Sabre added seven inches in the bow and three inches in the stern to gain more interior volume and headroom. The transom angle was drawn out for a more rakish look and, combined with the bow freeboard, resulted in six inches more LOA. This hull features conservative lines with a deep skeglet in front of the rudder and a  wing keel with a 5′ draft.. The rudder is partially balanced. The D/L ratio of this design is 193.

Sabre moved the mast forward in the re-design process. If you look at the interior layout of this design, I think you can see the reason the mast was moved. The rig of the 425 shows fore and aft lower shrouds and two spreaders. The forward mast location allows for mid-boom sheeting that comfortably clears the forward located companionway.

A single handed sailor, couple or family could comfortably cruise in this layout. There is a single head accessible from the aft stateroom and the main cabin.

The galley is big with lots of counter space. The engine is located under the center counter. Keeping the mast forward leaves room for an unobstructed area between the settees and a big drop leaf table. The port settee converts to a double berth. The aft stateroom is tucked behind the companionway ladder and features a large double berth.
This design carries 50 gallons of fuel and 120 gallons of water. The auxiliary is a Westerbeke 46. The hull is a balsa cored-laminate using isophthalic resin above the waterline and vinylester resin below it.

“Shillelagh” has gone through an extensive three year refit in preparation for ocean sailing to Antiqua, Bahamas, and beyond.
Plans have changed bringing “Shillelagh” to the market.

Some of the highlights of the refit are:

Accommodations

The salon has a dinette/settee in the main cabin area with a table that folds down from the forward bulkhead. Across to port is a couch running from the navigation station forward to the bulkhead. Both the settee and couch have ample cabinets and drawers above.Opening port windows run the length of the salon port and starboard allowing natural light to flood the space.

The galley is located at the port aft end of the salon and contains a refrigerator and freezer, three burner propane stove with oven, stainless steel, double basin sink with faucet and white laminated countertops. Lots of over and under storage drawers, hatches and cabinets as well as access to the engine under the center cabinet. Newer port and starboard extended length windows allow more than ample natural light.

To starboard is the navigation station with chart table, built in seating, the electrical panel and electronics above and to port.

To port and aft of the galley is the private aft cabin with double berth, hanging locker, a plethora of storage drawers, shelves, cabinets and countertop space.

To starboard and aft of the salon is the head with separate shower, sink, electric flush toilet, white laminated countertops and opening portlight. There are two entry doors to the head. One from the salon and the other is a private entrance from the aft cabin.

Just forward of the salon is a private cabin with a V berth, hanging locker to starboard, built in seating to port and sink butting up to the bulkhead, opening port windows and overhead hatch and more than abundant over and under storage.
