One look at the hull and keel of this boat and you will know that she is going to take you where you want to go, and nicely. Designed by Gary Grant, a notable naval architect, to make fast, safe and comfortable offshore or inshore passages. Renowned for sailing beautifully in both light and heavy airs, these boats are hard to come by. The Norseman 400 has a comfortable cockpit, clear decks, and very spacious and pleasing bright accommodation down below with 6’4″ headroom, warm wood trim and generous nav station and galley spaces. Two double cabins, one aft and one forward, both with good hanging locker. The forward cabin has access to the head and the shower compartment and directly to the main saloon. A cruising sailor will be spoiled by the great amount of storage space below, and in the lazarettes.
The boat has been with current owner for the past 24 years ( since 1998) and she has mainly sailed her single handed and conservatively with reefed main and jib. This yacht has been looked after and not pushed hard.. She has been sailed for summer seasons up and down the east coast and occasionally to the Bahamas.
A unique opportunity to own a quality seaworthy yacht.
Descend the companionway steps to enter a very bright, spacious saloon with warm wood finish and a white headliner with nice wooden trim.
Immediately to your left is a galley – first on your left are two huge iceboxes, ahead is the stove and to your right is the sink and a long narrow built in trash compartment. Plenty of locker storage above and below. The woodwork then curves around gracefully into the settee area. The dining table has a leaf that can open to accommodate seating for eight or more around the u shaped settee and the berth opposite.
To your right at you descend the companionway is the door into the aft stateroom which has a lighted cedar hanging locker, two hatches, and an ample climb-in double berth. There is good access to the side of the engine from this berth. Next forward on the starboard side is the very substantial chart table and pivoting armchair in white. Past this is the single berth/settee. On the bulkhead ahead is the Force 10 Propane heater.
0pposite the heater to your left is the door into the shower compartment, which has a glass door separating it from the head compartment. The head compartment has another door which leads into the forward double cabin. Prism deck lights deck give excellent additional light to the head compartment which has sink, mirror and composting toilet.
The forward cabin has a double vee berth, lots of cabinet storage and a generous lighted cedar hanging locker and wide shelf under the window. This cabin has direct access to the main saloon, and separate access to the head and shower compartment.
Ariel’s Song has very nice wood trim throughout which makes the entire interior feel warm and welcoming.
